Kocher & Barney (KB) is pleased to announce the addition of Katherine Zura to its legal team as an Associate Attorney, where she will focus on family law matters including divorce and juvenile delinquency.
Zura earned her Juris Doctor graduating Cum Laude from the University of Toledo College of Law in May 2025, where she was recognized with the CALI Book Award for the highest grade in Trial Practice and the OSBA Environmental Law Writing Award. She also holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Toledo, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. During law school, she gained valuable hands-on experience through the Immigrant Justice Clinic and volunteer work with the Toledo Bar Association’s Pro Se Divorce Clinic. Zura is a licensed Ohio attorney.
Having clerked at KB while sitting for the bar exam, Zura experienced firsthand the firm’s commitment to its clients, its people, and the Ottawa County community, and knew it was exactly where she wanted to build her career.
“Working alongside the KB team while preparing for the bar exam made my decision easy,” said Zura. “This is a firm that truly invests in its team and the community it serves, it’s exactly where I want to put down my roots.”
Partner Gabby Toscano echoed that enthusiasm. “We are happy Katherine has decided to join the KB team,” said Toscano. “From the moment she joined us as a clerk, it was clear she brings not only exceptional talent but also a genuine heart for helping people. We know she is going to make a real difference for our clients and our community.”
